Membership Information

Full Membership:
$150 per month

Associate Membership:
$75 or $65 per month if a part time student

FULL MEMBERS: Members join for a minimum two-year period and membership is automatically extended at the end of that period. Members are encouraged to participate in the Gallery’s monthly group shows and schedule a one-month solo exhibit.* A new members' exhibit is held each February featuring members who have joined since the previous year. Members are significantly involved in the operation of the gallery and may hold executive positions. Members are required to gallery-sit once a month, participate on a committee, and attend monthly meetings.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS: Associate members join for a minimum one-year period during which time they may move up to Full membership if so desired. At the end of the initial contract period membership is renewable. Associate members are significantly involved in the operation of the Gallery. Associate members are required to staff the Gallery once a month, participate on a committee, and attend monthly meetings. Associate members are encouraged to participate in the Gallery’s monthly members' art shows.

GUEST ARTIST:
Gallery 1: $2760 per one-month exhibition
Guest artists renting gallery space also pay a 30% commission on sales per one- month Exhibition.

Guest artists who may also live outside the Washington, DC area and wish to arrange for an exhibition in the Gallery may apply for a Guest Membership. Guest artists are represented on the Foundry Gallery website as well.

Application Process

Prospective members should send the completed application form, a current resume, an artist’s statement, a CD of 10-20 images, and any other reproductions or relevant information to the Membership Chair, whose address can be obtained by calling the Gallery. Selected artists are invited to bring 4 to 5 pieces of original work for the general membership to view and judge on the third Wednesday of each month. Final acceptance will be determined by vote from the full membership during that meeting.
