The Color of Waterlilies
Oil Paintings by Judy Gilbert Levey
About the Exhibit
Inspired by the beauty unfolding this spring in Washington, Judy Gilbert Levey’s vivid hues and agressive brushing take viewers deep into plein air paintings of lily pond, farms, and country and urban life. The mood of her work ranges from bucolic to frenetic. Her vision seeks to sweep aside the line between representation and abstraction, finding color, light and pattern in familiar forms.
The exhibit includes new paintings done at the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, Tregaron Conservancy, both in DC, and Lilypons in Adamstown, MD, as well as landscapes from Maine and the Pacific Northwest.
